Can you guarantee croc sightings?
A. You are 99% likely to see crocodiles in their natural habitat. Goa’s rivers are home to an abundance of wildlife and fauna and though we cannot give you 100% guarantee of spotting crocs, the sheer beauty of the landscape and those who inhabit it are enough to tantalize your senses.
Note: The river is not a zoo and it is illegal to feed crocodiles, therefore you may at times miss your chance to catch a glimpse of these prehistoric beasts.
Is there a particular time of day that might increase our odds of spotting a crocodile?
A. Yes there is. The best time to see crocodiles is during low tide. As the water levels recede, the crocodiles have lesser places to hide.
What else can I see apart from crocodiles?
The crocodile trip takes you through Mangroves and the World Heritage Rainforest, which in itself assure glimpses of some of Goa’s wild treasures.
How safe is it?
Are safety rests on the following principles:
- Never feed crocs, as feeding them is illegal. Therefore they do not associate the boat with food and keep their distance.
- The boat is bigger than the crocs, there they are intimidated by it and don’t come near.
- We are always equipped with top of the line safety gear.
- Lastly, our personnel are well trained and have several years of experience studying the behavior of crocodiles in their natural habitat and therefore know how close or far you can be while spotting a crocodile.
What is the duration of the cruise?
A. The cruise is around 2 hours long.
Can we transfer our booking to someone else?
A. Yes you can.
Do I need to book in advance?
A. It is advisable that you do so as to ensure you don’t miss out on any trip due to lack of time-slots available.
Is there a roof over the boat?
Due to the hot and humid climate of Goa, a roof is necessary to protect you from any discomfort that direct sunlight may cause. Contrary to what you may feel, the roof does not obstruct you while you view the vivid flora and fauna of Goa’s mangroves and rainforest.
Can I be sure of clicking good photographs?
Indeed, as we get up close and personal with the rivers inhabitants (while keeping a safe distance). However, the quality of the photographs will completely depend on the quality of your camera.
